Cabbage VST not being recognised in Logic Pro X ver 10.3

I tried to export an effect that I wrote in cabbage as VST, I placed the VST folder for plugins and rescanned Logic in plugin manager but, it does not seem to recognise the file. Did any one had that problem before ?

As far as I know Logic can’t open VST plugins. I don’t think they ever could? There is an AU interface for Cabbage, but it’s very experimental and reports of its effectiveness have been mixed. I am looking to create a better AU version of Cabbage, but it will take some time.

Thank you Rory for your reply, I just found out on official apple page that logic do not support VST (there is a folder for VST plugins in logic directory which mislead me). However, there are utilities such as the VST to Audio Units Adapter.(https://www.fxpansion.com/products/vst-au-adapter/). This “wraps” Mac OS X versions of VST plug-ins to create virtual Audio Units.

Note that not all VST plugins work with FXPansion. So if I was you I would check Cabbage first before purchasing!

I read on other forum about it, also creators are saying that it does not work in all the cases. I found also VSTAU (http://syntheway.com/Free_Download_VSTAU_Wrapper_Audio_Unit_Adapter_VST_Plug-ins_AU_hosts.htm) which is free, but it is crashing on my mac. I have to check out Cabbage AU the only solution.

Search on the forum here for more info about the AU interface. In the meantime I will try to get some time to work on a new version myself.
