OSX, Ardour and AUs Again

Hi,

I’d like to have another go at getting the Cabbage AUs working (last time I tried I didn’t have any luck). I’ve downloaded Cabbage OSX however when I run the installer it doesn’t seem to install the AUs - where should they be? I’ve looked in the two standard places for them but can’t see them.

I tried downloading them from here:

but I was wondering whether these are the latest? Anyway, I installed them into ~/Library/… and the effect AU appears to be working (with Ardour 5.4) however the synth AU isn’t loading. Here’s the error from the Ardour log.

[ERROR]: Cannot get I/O configuration info for AU CabbageSynth

I stopped including the AUs in the installer because people were having mixed experience in using them. They seem to work for people and not for other. It’s rather tricky to debug. I think the Ardour team fixed some windowing issues recently. I’ll have to install the latest and see how they run. In the meantime maybe you can let me know if the installer linked above works.

The installer works properly however I’m still getting the error with the synth AU.

Ok. I’ll need to take a look. What version of Ardour are you using?

I’m getting the same error with both plugins now.

I’m using the latest release version of Ardour - Ardour 5.4.0 “In a Land of Clear Colours” (rev 5.4) Intel 64-bit

What did you change to stop the effect plugin from working?

AFAIK, nothing.

It could have been the AudioUnit cache. It might have been loading the older plugin and then after refreshing tried the newest one. I’ll install that version of Ardour during the week and see how I get on with it.
