BPM Detection?

Morning everyone!

I’m a computer music student working on my undergraduate thesis project with Dr. Boulanger at Berklee College of Music and thought I’d reach out for some advice from the Csound and Cabbage communities.

Has anyone had any experience with audio file BPM Detection in Cabbage? I’m looking for any instruments, opcodes, suggestions, etc. to explore in terms of creating an element of a patch that analyzes BPM from a given audio file input. Ideally, I would be working towards something that can analyze BPM and quantize audio to fit a grid which could then be manipulated like can be done in Ableton Live or Zulu DJ Software.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @mmcdermott1, there is a Csound opcode called tempest that might help. I’ve never used, but it’s worth a shot. TBH, I didn’t even know it existed until about 30 seconds ago when I did a quick search for beat detection in Csound
