Cabbage 3 on Linux

Hello, just installed Cabbage 3 on my Debian machine (extension downloaded from site - Csound 7.0 built from sources in standard directories) but as soon as I press Run Cabbage after the cabbage logo and the message “…Command palette (Ctrl+…” I get this error

If I try to save a Cabbage file I get the logo image with “Restarting Backend…” message so I suppose something is not working :sweat_smile:

Any idea why this error?

Sorry @vallste, Linux support is still quite experimental for now. I don’t have my linux box with me right now, but I’ll install an image on a free partition of my laptop and see if I can’t fix the issue :+1:

I just tested a local build here and it ran fine for me. But I don’t want you to have to build from sources. Let me see if I can figure out what might be happening in the CI pipeline.

I think the problem is the CabageApp binary is having its exectuable bit disabled. A similar thing was hapenning on MacOS. I’ve pushed a CI update now. Can you test when it’s done, it will be available here in the half hour or so: 3.0.16-beta

Hi @rorywalsh , just installed 3.0.18, gui appears and it’s making sound.

Tested some examples:

button.csd seems to work

combobox.csd seems to work

checkbox.csd seems to work

cabbageCreate.csd is reporting some error about trailing comma

gentable.csd seems to work

xyPad.csd not running, some error about rtapipulse

I’ll investigate further, in the meantime thank you!

Thanks ,those files had typos in them, I’ll fix that shortly.
