Hey there,
I can’t get the initial values from the XY pad. When I try printing them, they show up as zero. But when I just click on the XY pad, it sets it’s values correctly. A similar problem I faced with the range sliders as well. Is there a workaround for the time being till it’s addressed?
This has been fixed in version 2, I rewrote the xypad 
For now you could just use a chnset to set the initial values? Btw, I also rewrite the range sliders.

Btw, you could always roll your own XYpad. I did this recently and it worked pretty good. I think I posted it to the list somewhere? Must take a look…
