MacOS: Vertical slider does not work

When I compile the attached file to VST3 on MacOS, REAPER loads the plugin and it works correctly. But in REAPER, the vertical sliders cannot be moved, only the rotary and button. I had this in the last alpha version, but it did not change when updating to 3.0.20-beta.

I also tried to check this on my PC. But there at the moment I have another problem. I will create another topic for that.

TruePingPong.csd (5.5 KB)

For good or for bad, the test is also negative on Windows. The vertical sliders cannot be moved in the plugin, although they move when starting it from VS Code/Cabbage.

Just looking into this now. Looks like a mouse pointer issue..

I’ve pushed and triggered a new build that should resovle this issue. Didn’t have time to test yet, but will do when the build is cooked :+1:

[edit] Just tested, and it’s working fine for me now. Thanks for the report, keep them coming!

Thanks for fixing this!

But I found two more issues when I export the file uploaded above to a plugin which may not be bugs but my lack of understanding:

  1. I am using the reserved channels for host info like here:
    hostBpm:k chnget "HOST_BPM"
    timeSigDen:k chnget "TIME_SIG_DENOM"
The first seems to work, but the second not. These are also not documented anymore for Cabbage 3. Did the names change?
  2. I want to have a stereo input, and just did this:
    inr:a = inch(1)
    inl:a = inch(2)
In the standalone it complains Input channel 2 too large; ignored. I thought this may be because there is only a mono input available to my PC. But also as a plugin it seems to receive only one channel. (I also tried ins with no avail.)

I’ll have to look into the first issue, but the second should be resolvable by setting the channelConfig

From the docs:

In Cabbage 3, the number of input and output channels is controlled primarily by the channelConfig property within the JSON header. If no channelConfig is defined, Cabbage falls back to the nchnls / nchnls_i declarations in your Csound orchestra header, so a plain multichannel .csd without any channelConfig still works. If neither is defined, the plugin defaults to 1 input and 2 outputs.

That line at the end is the reason why this doesn’t work. Cabbage 3 pivoted to this approach to allow for better routing, especially in multichannrel plugins.
