Now if I load the plugin in the same session (with the default plugin), it works!
So I tried to close Ableton and reopen an empty session, and it works again… My issue is that some of my users experience the issue so I need to find the underlying cause.
In order to export the VST3 of the template effect I had to install Cabbage on my testing machine. So it means I also installed csound, maybe that’s why the bug disappeared? But then why the « statically link » embedded Csound wouldn’t work in Ableton Live but would work in Audacity?
I’m not sure this investigation helps but if you have any other debug ideas, I’m happy to try to find the cause of the bug
Hi @nymano, I’ve no idea what might be causing this. Nothing has changed in terms of Csound or Cabbage that much in the last year or so. It’s likely something that changed in Live. There is a thread about it on the JUCE forum:
This was resolved by updating toe JUCE 8, which I don’t have a license for.
I won’t have access to a Windows machine until tomorrow, have you test with Live 12 on MacOS?
Thanks Rory, I will try these tests (Live 12 on MacOS and enabling openGL).
However, the plugin works fine when I install Cabbage on the machine… Which makes me think that the csound install solves the issue. I will try to uninstall csound and see if it still works.
Interesting point: when I first loaded the plugin Live asked if I wanted to install “DirectLive”, and then re-started, then crashed when I opened the plugin again.
