Hello all,
Whilst trying to make synth(s), I am facing a very simple difficulty, taking into account that the set of real numbers covers from - infinity to +infinity… what should be the range of most sound parameters ?
Csound doc never provide a value, not even a hint about the range.
So for ADSR, between 0 and 2 sec … is already a huge span. and I know this but as far as other are concerned…I have no clue. and sometimes too high values can damage your ears…
In example :
LFO frequency ? LFO amplitude ? for opcodes crossfm family, foscil family, etc…
Even the ADSR parameter when applied to a filter frequency or the amplitude of an LFO…
(Even if there is NO perfect range for value, it is likely that some may be more used than some others…)
I have been searching the web without finding any clue. Should you know about this, would you be so kind to share ?
Maybe could this post also be the beginning for gathering valuable information for all?
i.e , thereafter the range, I use :
ADSR (when applied to sound signal) A = [0.001, 1]** (sec) , below 0.001 , i get clicks D = [0.001, 1 ](sec) S =[0,1] ( it is a % of the amplitude of the signal) R = [0, 2] make already a very very looooong note after releasing the key
Thank you for your help
