Is it possible to achieve a slider of musical timing duration, such as 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2,3,4, etc and the dotted and triplet variants like those fancy sliders you get with certain other VSTs within cabbage? Or would it require C++ programming?

Sure, you should check out the HostInfo.csd example which in the the Misc. examples menu. That retrieves all the timing information you need from the host. After that it’s up to you how you to decide what way you want to drive your synth.
