With regards to Windows: Iain is having an issues with plugins not showing up, and N_Chilada is having an issue running Cabbage Studio, but everything else seems to be Ok. On the other hand, I’ve had no problems with the latest release on Win7 and Win10. I’ll keep digging. We’ll get to the bottom of it soon!
Hey Rory, did the cabbage manual stop getting packaged with releases? The last few have given me “Could not find Cabbage manual. Make sure it is located in the Docs folder in the same directory as the main Cabbage executable”
Also, now that I’m starting to enjoy using sublime as my editor… it would be nice to be able to pull up those and the csound docs without having the internal cabbage editor active. It seems like that’s the only way, so I find myself going into edit mode to use them (which brings up the editor regardless of the external editor mode being set or not).
I wasn’t aware of any issues, but I can’t test now myself. If you wish to use Sublime edit, enable the ‘use external editor’ menu option. That should cause Cabbage to auto-update when changes are saved, although I’ve not used this feature in quite a while. If I’m working outside of the Cabbage editor I simple open the docs in web browser. Can you let me know where the Docs folder is located within the Cabbage app bundle? It might be in the wrong place for some reason.
Yes, I have the external editor option enabled. What I’m saying is that without the internal cabbage editor open, there’s no quick/easy way to pull up the docs. The help hotkey in cabbage only works from the internal editor, and the menu items to select it manually are only present in the editor too. So using cabbage in external editor mode, the only way pull up the docs is put cabbage in edit mode (the one allowing me to move any widgets), which brings up the internal editor whether external edit is enabled or not. From there I can launch the help docs, then I save which closes cabbage’s “edit mode”. Hope that made sense?
Interesting, yes the docs are indeed there… in /Applications/Cabbage.app/Contents/MacOS/Docs
I wonder why cabbage is saying they’re missing.
Are they in a directory called _books within that folder? I will sort out the docs problem the next time I’m at my OSX machine. Which is likely to be a few weeks after the holidays. In the meantime can’t you simply open index.html in a web browser and leave it open? Or, if you can’t open the contents of a bundle folder, simply copy the docs folder into another directory?
Yes, thanks! I can view what I need now that I know it’s actually there, so it’s not particularly an urgent issue. It does reinforce my suggestion that the newest docs should be viewable on the site as well.
