Csound/cabbage plug-ins no longer supported in FMOD?

Hi,

We,re trying to upgrade some proyects from the 2023 FMOD version due to important upgrades that offer a great improvement in our Live audio Simulator. We used a couple of plug-ins developped in cabbage audio with great results. We are trying to upgrade to the current version of FMOD. We set the proyect and the plugins paths correctly, but the inserted plugins are disabled and they don´t appear in the available plugins list.

The program configuration is correct, but we can´t use the plugins anymore.

What can we do?

Thanks

You’ll probably need to rebuild the CsoundFMOD package with the latest FMOD API. Is this something you might be able to try? My time is pretty stretched at the moment. I can take a look, but it probably won’t be for a few weeks. I’m happy to help direct you in terms of what needs to be done if you want a go at it yourself. The first step is to down the API and build the sample plugins that come with it.

Yeah, I have to say this is really disappointing. One of the reasons I initially chose Cabbage was because of the FMOD integration — it opened up a lot of creative possibilities, especially for game audio projects. Dropping support without a clear workaround or long-term plan kind of leaves people like me in a tough spot.

I get that maintaining compatibility takes effort, but this feels like a big step back. Hopefully there’s some consideration to revisit this or at least provide a more robust alternative moving forward.

Would love to hear if anyone’s found a decent workaround in the meantime.

I can take a look, but I really can’t give any clear timeline on when.
